Meridian Shades, Inc. ("Meridian Shades," "we," "us") provides motorized window shade sales and installation in Boca Raton and Palm Beach County, Florida. This notice explains what personal information we collect through meridianshades.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information you give us

In Short: We collect the information you choose to provide.

When you request a measure, contact us, or otherwise get in touch, we may collect:

• Your name
• Your phone number or WhatsApp number
• Your email address
• Your neighbourhood, building or ZIP code
• The approximate number of window openings in your project
• Optionally, what matters most to you in the room (darkness, privacy or heat)
• Optionally, photographs or video of your windows that you choose to upload
• Anything else you choose to tell us about your project

Photographs you upload are used only to prepare your estimate and plan the installation. We do not publish them, and we do not use them in marketing unless you give us separate permission in writing.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health data, precise geolocation, biometric data or financial account numbers through this website.

In Short: We collect standard technical data when you browse.

When you visit the site we automatically receive standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, and how you move through the site. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages are useful.

3. How we use your information

In Short: We use your information to serve you and run the business.

We use the information above to:

• Respond to your enquiry and arrange a measure appointment
• Prepare and send you an estimate
• Carry out and support the work if you become a customer
• Contact you about your request, including follow-up about scheduling or service
• Keep records required for warranty, tax and accounting purposes
• Understand how the website is used and improve it

4. Calls, texts and WhatsApp

In Short: Consent is not required to buy, and you can opt out anytime.

When you submit a form and tick the consent box, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text message or WhatsApp about your request, including by automated means. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and message and data rates may apply.

You can withdraw this consent at any time by replying STOP to a message, or by emailing info@meridianshades.com. We may still contact you about work already in progress.

5. Who we share information with

In Short: We do not sell your personal information.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it to do their job. These include our website and form hosting provider, our email provider, our customer records system, our analytics provider, and our shade suppliers when an order is placed for your project.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

6. Cookies and analytics

In Short: You can control cookies through your browser settings.

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function, and analytics tools that help us understand how the site is used.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you use Google Analytics opt-out, you can install the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. How long we keep your information

In Short: We keep records only as long as needed.

If you enquire but do not become a customer, we keep your enquiry for up to two years and then delete it.

If you become a customer, we keep project records, including measurements, photographs and the handover checklist, for as long as the manufacturer warranty runs plus three years, so that we can support warranty claims and resolve any question about the work. Tax and accounting records are kept for seven years as required by law.

8. Security

In Short: We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfect.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

In Short: Our services are not directed to children.

Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, email info@meridianshades.com and we will delete it.

10. Your rights in Florida

In Short: Florida residents have specific privacy rights.

If you are a Florida resident, you may ask us to:

• Confirm whether we process your personal information and give you access to it
• Correct inaccuracies in your personal information
• Delete your personal information
• Provide a copy of the personal information you gave us
• Opt out of processing for targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects

We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, but the right to opt out is available to you regardless.

To make a request, email info@meridianshades.com and we will handle your request. We will respond within 45 days, and may extend by a further 15 days if the request is complex, in which case we will tell you.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, using information we already hold. You may use an authorised agent, who must provide proof that you authorised them.

If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing info@meridianshades.com with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond in writing within 60 days. If the appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Florida Attorney General.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

11. Do Not Track

In Short: We do not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time.

There is currently no accepted standard for responding to browser Do Not Track signals, so we do not respond to them at this time.

We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we will post a notice on the site.
